The programmed lesson on the 16-17 April won't take place because I will be travelling abroad for academic reason, but:

You will meet on Tuesday at 18:00 (without me) to organize two groups to prepare the visit to Palama that (hopefully) will take place on Wednesday 24th April.
The students that were absent in the previous week, should come and join one of the two teams. The participation of the team is mandatory because you have to discuss how to interact with the local community during our visit. Everyone should be present!
I remind some of the role that you have to share among each person in a group:
1) audio recording
2) video recording
3) taking notes (remind also to write down names and who is the actor that you are talking too)
4) interacting with the local community (one student will start the conversation, possibly a Greek one)
5) drawing notes on the map
6) taking pictures
7) any other responsibility that you may think are necessary
8) making a list of question related to your research
9) trying to get information, personal stories, opinions
During the visit, you will be equipped with a b/w map that you will use as a tool to drawing notes or any other information that may be useful. I will give you the maps, post-it, and a couple of pen/marker. After the meeting, you may request some more material that you may need, so please write to me before Monday 22 with your requests.
I just remind you the meaning of the exercise: you have to self-organized your team, taking responsibilities, be an agent in the meeting. The meeting involved different actors: you (as architects), local community from Palama, local community from Metamorfosi, Municipality representatives, and maybe someone else. You are the main actor that will manage the participatory process.
In the bibliography you may find some article about participation.
Language is not a burden if we smile and share our enthusiasm.

Not to lose too much time because of our problem on organizing the trip, you can also start the strategic design for discussion on Tuesday 23th. During the class, we discussed a bit about it, Basically, we have two phases:
1) location of the relocation, we made a map with possible location. Everyone should have one proposal
2) strategy of design: you have to start to design using diagrams the strategy of intervention that should include dimensioning, organization, density, anti-flooding measures, accessibility, relation with the ground/soil.

For those involved in the workshop that will take place at our School in the week 22-26, there won’t be problem to miss for the trip (9-16:30) as I have already talked with prof. Vrontissi to informed her.
